1. BAPA members:

• Dr Husni Al-Robb has secured a substantive consultant post after a strong & very competitive interview on Thursday 24.07.08

• Dr Mohamed Eid: has also secured a substantive consultant post in April 2008

• Dr Nadim Almoshmosh (BAPA membership officer): has been recently awarded the CCT by the PMETB.

• Dr Dina Munim (BAPA trainees Rep.): has secured an ST4 post in Learning Disability in Leicester

Very well done to all & Congratulation to you & to BAPA.

1. Mamdouh EL-Adl (BAPA Secretary): has been elected at the last congress June 2008 to represent The British Arab  Psychiatrists in The UK & all Arab Psychiatrists in Europe in the Executive Committee
   of the Arab Federation of Psychiatry.
   This is a recognition by the Arab Federation lead by Professor Ahmed Okasha to BAPA & its members.

3. Psychiatry Congress in Cairo & Damascus
   On behalf of BAPA executive team please make every effort to join any of the two conferences if you can.
   

4. BAPA & UAE: BAPA has been invited to a joint conference in UAE in 2009
   This is in line with our aim to collaborate with Mental health professionals in the Arab World
   We are very pleased to accept this invitation. Further details to follow.
   

5. BAPA & Health Care Commission (HCC): BAPA has been invited to contribute to the HCC activities in improving healthcare provided to ethnic minority in UK of course including the Arabic community. Dr Nasser A Mawla (Consultant Psychiatrist, Kettering) has very kindly agreed to represent BAPA at the HCC.
   

6. Dr Nadim, BAPA membership officer:
   Dr Nadim will soon start contacting all of you to update BAPA records either by e-mail or tel. Please kindly help Dr Nadim to complete his important mission. I sincerely apologiz for any inconvenience.
   
   As we approaching the summer, on behalf of BAPA executive team I wish you all very happy summer holidays in UK or in our home countries.
   
   BAPA membership continues to grow (BAPA now 207)& BAPA achievements are progressively increasing.
